Hey, everybody
I know it's been a long time since my last real journal… like, 2016-17ish. So, I thought I'd check in and touch base on my lack of activity. I have been on, just not really active. Only posting something if it was a friend's character or if I was in the mood to share which has been getting rarer by the day. This journal won't explain any real life stuff, I'm pretty boring online and offline as well as a private person.

For the most part, things just kind of… perished in an array of ways and I'll explain how. My motivation being one of them even though the plot bunnies won't stop spawning :/

 Eclipse:
I despised the fact that the site deleted all my saved information in regards to the groups I'm in. It was honestly my biggest pet peeve about the upgrade and I know a lot of people felt similar. The thought of having to go back and obtain years of receipts I've lost between all my PARPG and a few others just felt like a headache I didn't want at the time. I have tried to gather them over time, slowly, but even then that was completely unnecessary on dA's end. I highly doubt it would've been difficult to import that stuff. Regardless, it greatly affected my motivation/mood. Another was getting rid of Sta.sh Writer because I thought that was rather neat but not the end of the world.

Other than that, the site wasn't hard for me to figure out. Do I like it? Absolutely not. It's horrendous in my mind and hard on the eyes no matter which theme I choose. There are a couple things I like, mainly the little lines on the top left that displays all the groups you're in. That would've been a neat thing on the old site. Although, I dislike it doesn't take you to the group page itself. I know a lot of people left the community based on Eclipse alone, but I have no intention of leaving for now. There honestly isn't a place I know of that could rival or be even better than dA as of right now :/

 Groups:
A lot of groups that I was in sort of died in some fashion; before and after Eclipse. Several fell off back in 2017; some were extremely messy while others probably lacked plot ideas/mods got busy. I haven't bothered joining any new groups, most didn't catch my interest and the ones that did died almost as soon as they started, but it would be nice to get back into the community. Those that stopped because of Eclipse have recently tried going to discord or TH to run their groups. Which, I don't mind, I'm on both constantly. I'm mainly curious to how well it'll work out or if it'll run flat just the same.

Another thing is that a lot of them went through a drama period almost simultaneously. It wore me down rather quickly when adding full time student / employee into the mix.

 Other Sites:
I've been trying to find other places to post my art on, but most have been disappointing and I don't care much for social media sites such as Twitter or Facebook/Meta. I tried out Buzzly but… not my cup of tea for anyone who witnessed that hell in a handbasket. I really want an outlet or a community to vibe with, so if anyone has any recommendations, I'd love to hear them!

 So yeah
Those are the biggest reasons for my silence; I'm also a horrible conversationalist oTL
If anyone, new or old, wishes to chat I'm open to it! I just can't promise how in-depth it'll go o7
